Single-cell genomics of an invasive harmful alga: a sampling trip to North America:

Project Overview
Research Core Areas:
Project Abstract:
While the expanding abundance of the bloom-forming nuisance microalga Gonyostomum semen is well documented in Northern and Eastern Europe, there is only little record about the occurrence of this freshwater raphidophyte in North America. To track its expansion and to understand the dispersal pattern of this invasive species across the globe, it is essential to collect single-cell isolates of blooms from a wide environmental and geographical range of lakes.
